Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer to retain his French Open men’s singles title on Sunday.
The Spaniard’s victory was his sixth Roland Garros crown, bringing him level with Bjorn Borg’s record, while the triumph also meant he will remain world number one amid pressure from Novak Djokovic.
Federer won the third set of the French Open final against Rafa Nadal to keep his hopes alive of a 17th grand slam title.
Nadal won the first two sets to close in on a record-equaling sixth French Open crown.
