Christie Brinkley will never marry again. The 57-year-old supermodel – who has three children from her four marriages – insists her acrimonious divorce from fourth spouse Peter Cook in 2008 has made her feel the institution is “ridiculous” and put her off walking down the aisle again.Christie – who split from Peter after he admitted being unfaithful and later accused him of using “overwhelming” force with her children – said: “I can now say unequivocally I would never get married again. There’s absolutely no reason to.
“I learned in my divorce that marriage is ridiculous. You take a vow but you don’t get brownie points when you honor your vow and the other person doesn’t.
“The court doesn’t recognize that. It’s like, ‘All right now, let’s see how we’re going to divvy up the kids.’ Well, obviously, the one that didn’t break the vows should be the role model, but no.’ ”
Despite her stance on marriage, Christie hasn’t ruled out falling in love again.
She told Stella magazine: “You’ve gotta believe there are truly compassionate, kind, great people out there. Who also happen to be extremely funny.
“It’s getting harder and I’m a little more wary but I look at my parents, they’ve been together forever and are still madly in love.”
